Australia Study Visa: Holders of student visas are subject to a number of conditions that are overseen by the Department of Home Affairs. Deportation or visa cancellation/refusal may occur if these requirements are not met. Furthermore The terms of an Australia study visa are as follows:-

Conditions for student visas to Australia:-

Work Limitation (8105)

  • When your course is in session, you are not permitted to work more than 40 hours every two weeks (other than work, which has been registered as a part of the course). A fortnight is defined as any 14-day period beginning on a Monday and concluding at the end of the second Sunday after that.
  • During officially sanctioned vacation times that are provided by your school provider, you are permitted to work more than 40 hours each week.
  • Before you begin your degree in Australia, you cannot begin paid job.
  • If you are enrolled in an Australian Masters by Research or Doctorate programme, there are no job restrictions.

8202- COMPLY WITH COURSE RESTRICTIONS

  • You must continue to be enrolled in an approved course (unless you are a Foreign Affairs or Defence sponsored student or secondary exchange student in which case you must maintain full-time enrolment in your course of study or training).
  • You must continue to enrol in a registered course that is at the same level as the one for which you were granted a visa, or one that is higher. See: Changing directions
  • Note: Any course that is included on the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for International Students is considered to be registered (CRICOS).
  • For each study session, you must meet your education provider’s requirements for attendance in your class and academic advancement.

Maintain health insurance (851)

  • Throughout your stay in Australia, you must maintain suitable arrangements for health insurance.
  • You must continue to maintain Overseas Student Health Cover, per policy (OSHC).

8516 – MUST CONTINUE TO BE ELIGIBLE

  • You must continue to meet the criteria before your student visa will be granted. For instance, this indicates that you still have the financial wherewithal to fund your studies and stay in Australia.

Maintain Education for Dependents (8517)

  • For the purposes of your application for an Australia student visa, you must continue to provide your dependents who are school-age (age 5 and older) who have been living with you in Australia for more than three months with suitable educational opportunities.

8532 – APPROVE WELFARE, 18

  • For the length of your stay in Australia, if you are under the age of 18, you must have a place to live, support, and care for your general wellbeing.
