SCORING IN PTE (Reading and Listening)

If you are planning to appear for the Pearson Test of English or Scoring in PTE, you must know about the interrelation of scores among the four sections.

Scoring in PTE is a 3 hours examination that contains 4 different sections, like Speaking & Writing, Reading, and Listening. These four sections have 20 sub-tasks, also known as task types. The sections of PTE are interrelated to each other in terms of scores. These interrelations of scores for the Reading and Listening section are discussed below table:

INTERRELATION OF SCORES
READINGMCQ, CHOOSE A SINGLE ANSWERThis task type helps the candidate to fetch scores for the Reading section only. It does not contribute to any other section.
MCQ, CHOOSE MULTIPLE  ANSWERMCQ, Multiple answers also contribute to the respective section only. The scores earned in this task type will help to boost the Reading scores.
RE-ORDER PARAGRAPHRe-order paragraph allows the candidate to benefit from their scores in the Reading section only.
READING: FILL IN THE BLANKSThe Reading fill-in-the-blanks, also known as Drag & Drop fill-in-the-blanks, helps the candidate to get scores for the respective section. Whatever the candidate will be able to score in this task type, will remain in the Reading Section only.
READING & WRITING: FILL IN THE BLANKSThese fill-in-blanks are also known as the drop-down fill-in-the-blanks. The scores earned in this task type will help the candidate to score well in the Writing as well as in the Reading Section.
LISTENINGSUMMARIZE SPOKEN TEXTThis task type will benefit two different sections of PTE. It will help the candidate to get scores for the Writing Section and the Listening Section.
MCQ, CHOOSE MULTIPLE ANSWERMCQ, Multiple answers do not contribute to any other section, as the rewarded scores remain in the Listening Section.
FILL IN THE BLANKSThe fill-in-the-blanks enables the candidate to earn scores for two different sections. It helps to get scores for Writing and the Listening Section.
HIGHLIGHT CORRECT SUMMARYThis task type helps you get good scores in the Reading Section and the Listening Section.
MCQ, CHOOSE A SINGLE ANSWERThis task type does not contribute to any other section. Whatever scores the candidate receives in this task type, remains in the Listening Section.
SELECT MISSING WORDSelect Missing Words do not contribute to any other section other than the Listening Section.
HIGHLIGHT INCORRECT WORDSIt is considered one of the most important task types for the Reading and Listening Sections in PTE. As it helps to get good scores for two different sections.
WRITE FROM DICTATIONThis task type is one of the most important task types in order to attain good scores for the Writing Section and for the Listening section.

SCORING IN PTE

As it is said that “no one is perfect in all aspects”, the interrelation of the task type makes it a little easier to score well in the Scoring PTE examination.
